My goals for this summer

I consider myself to be an ambitious person. Time will tell. Every summer up until this one I have counted down the days until school is out. This summer will be a little different. I am striking out on a new habit, working all summer! I want to find strength in freedom. When other kids are having fun hanging out with friends, I will be in my room pushing my brain to the limits. Don’t believe me? Very wise, cause I hardly can believe myself. It’s not my normal self to crack the whip on my own back.

I finish school this Friday. Once I finish school I will start work on three goals that I want to achieve.
1. I want to get my drivers permit. I failed the first time and I have been too busy to try again.
2. The first goal is pretty easy. The second is a little harder. I want to get serious about learning Spanish. I have Rosetta Stone Spanish, levels one-three. I want to finish level one this summer.
3. The third is BIG! I have already been working for a couple months on it. The other two are tiny in comparison to this. This will literally involve thousand, I mean THOUSANDS of hours of work. It might also include travel. I pray that God will give me strength to complete my goal. I don’t know of anyone my age that has done anything like it. Because it is so big I have written a riddle to explain what I want to create.

I was born in the forest. Life has always been tough for me. When I was growing up, a machine bleached me with chlorine. People are always dropping me. People record information by scratching at my face. They leave ink all over me and think nothing of it. After I have been so humiliated, others stare at me for hours. Not sure what I am? You probably know my father; the “scroll” or maybe you’ve held my cousin the “pamphlet.” Life is tough for them too, but that’s another story. What am I?
