My Great Grandmother’s Testimony

Here is video of my grandmother telling how she came to know the lord. If you are reading this via email, here is the link to watch it. http://jeremiedetellis.com/2010/07/my-great-grand…hers-testimony

For those who are having trouble understanding her speech, here is a brief summary of what she said. When she was a young teen she fell down a fire escape several stories and landed on solid concrete. She was taken to a tuberculosis hospital where many never return. Locked away in a gloomy hospital, next to dying people, she cried out to the universe, “If there is a God, May I know him!”

During her one and a half year recovery in the hospital her family moved. At the new home, her mother conversed with the landlady and she said, “If your God can do what you say he can. Then take my daughter to church.”

That’s how her relationship with Christ began. Because of her example of a Christ centered life all of her family eventually came to know the lord.

A few days ago, she turned 90 and has enjoyed 71 years of marriage. She also prays for me every day as she does for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her faithfulness is an inspiration to me.
