I originally took a step back from my facebook profile to save time and keep friends updated in a way that a profile couldn’t. My biggest reason for switching was time consumption. A fan page just takes less time to manage.

After six months away from a standard Facebook profile, I’m asking myself whether I should reactivate my account. I don’t miss my old profile. I have come to notice how egocentric a fan page sounds. I don’t like it! I am looking to engage friends at school in way that a fan page doesn’t offer. I think it’s key to promoting Team Servio and enables me to mentor and engage with students.

I’m happy for the six months away from facebook and I think it has taught me something. I’ve learnt that there is a right and wrong way to use facebook. When I used Facebook before, I was trying to use it to entertain my social needs. This time, I’m using Facebook with a purpose. I have vision, a calling, and a plan.

If you were friends with me before I deactivated, we should automatically become friends again when I reactivated. If your not fiends with me yet and you’d like to be, here is the link to my profile, http://www.facebook.com/jeremiedetellis
